Mozilla posts Firefox 4 Release Candidate

updated 09:20 pm EST, Wed March 9, 2011

Launch expected soon

After several delays during Firefox 4 beta development, Mozilla has finally posted a release candidate (RC) build. The major update features an updated interface with new tab locations, tag organization tools, and a utility for managing add-ons. Speed and stability is said to be significantly improved over previous versions and early betas, while the RC label indicates the company has resolved a majority of the bugs.

The company has yet to announce a specific date for the official release, though the RC build will receive an automatic update to the final version. A feature-complete beta was released late in November, followed by comments hinting at a February release that never came to fruition.
