Rumor pegs HTC Thunderbolt for March 21
The seemingly nearing release of the HTC Thunderbolt has received another and possibly firmer launch date through a rumor. Two separate insiders said Thursday that the phone would ship on March 21. BGR acknowledged that the tips came from relatively new sources, but added that HTC's Facebook page briefly mentioned the same date.
The phone had originally, if only through leaks, been pegged for a mid-February release. Multiple tips had its date repeately pushed back. Most now believe the delays came from poor battery life that needed firmware fixes.
Verizon may have delayed the 4G Android device most recently to make way for the iPad 2 and prevent either device from being overshadowed.
