Alienware M17x 3D notebook gets Klipsch speakers

The latest version of the Alienware M17x 3D notebook introduced at CES by Dell has now been changed up in a small but key way. Gamers will now get sound delivered courtesy of Klipsch speakers and MaxxAudio 3 software from Waves. Klipsch was acquired by Audiovox earlier this year. Klipsch is based in Indianapolis and makes premium speakers for home theater systems and computer desks, along with headphones.

The 17-inch M17x 3D otherwise has a 3D display, Sandy Bridge quad-core i7 processors and an HDMI input that lets users connect their Xbox 360s and PlayStation 3 game consoles. The new notebook ships later in March, with prices starting at $1,500.
