Samsung Galaxy S II Mini leaked by 3 UK
Samsung's plans for a smaller high-end phone were outed Sunday in a leak from 3 UK. The Galaxy S II Mini will shrink down the Galaxy S II and slow it down, but still carry most of its features. The design will use a 3.7-inch screen and switch out from a dual-core chip to a 1.4GHz single-core chip, Engadget heard.
It would still have 21Mbps 3G and carry both a five-megapixel camera (down from eight) as well as a front camera for chat. Accordingly, it should come loaded with Android 2.3 from the start and support creating a mobile hotspot. Shipments would start in April, 3 said.
Other details mentioned included plans to launch the Nokia X7 gaming phone, despite its American cancellation, and a pair of tablets in June. Both a Wi-Fi only version of the BlackBerry PlayBook and a 3G version of the HTC Flyer. Samsung's Sliding PC 7 would also come to the network in 3G form, although here it's only labeled as the TX100.
