HTC Pyramid caught in the wild ahead of CTIA

The HTC Pyramid, previously spotted in renders, has had made its first unofficial appearance in the wild. The phone is expected to appear on T-Mobile's network and is rumored to either be running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) or Ice Cream, which brings Honeycomb elements to Android smartphones. It is also expected to be HTC's first smartphone featuring a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon clocking in at 1.2GHz.

Like other current high-end HTC smartphones, the Pyramid is expected to center on a 4.3-inch display, but in this instance, a quarter HD (qHD) 960x540 high-resolution display. It also said to sport an eight-megapixel rear camera that is supported by twin LED flashes as seen in the photo. The camera is expected to capture 1080p video and faster GPU performance that can draw 3D images in 88 million polygons per second.

It is tipped to come to T-Mobile's network as it is said to include an HSPA+ 3G radio and would be capable of 14.4Mbps downstream, or the same as the T-Mobile G2. It will also come equipped with 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The HTC Pyramid is expected to be unveiled at CTIA this week, before shipments begin in late spring. [via Techblog]
