Sprint brings Froyo, Sprint ID to Epic 4G, tablet

Sprint on Monday said it will finally bring its Sprint ID offering to the Samsung Epic 4G and Samsung Galaxy Tab. First talked about last fall, users can now download ID packs to customize their devices. The over-the-air update will begin arriving throughout the week, and will also include Android 2.2 in the case of the Epic 4G. All eligible devices will be updated by March 24.

Accessing Sprint ID will be done through the Applications Menu. Sprint ID offers 16 lifestyle-oriented ID packs. They include Home Base, Health & Fitness, Fashion & Beauty, Socially Connected, Business Pro, Golf Enthusiast, Auto Enthusiast, The Big Apple and Entertainment, as well as branded ID packs from Yahoo!, WHERE and Lo2Yo by LatCel. Branded Sprint ID packs include MTV, ESPN and HSN, though not all will be available for the Galaxy Tab and Epic 4G. Each pack is comprised of a choice of apps that fit under the theme.

Up to five ID packs can be downloaded onto devices at the same time. Users can switch between them. The packs are free with an Everything Data plan.
