Supplements limited number of Apple Stores
Canadian Best Buy outlets will indeed be selling the iPad 2 on March 25th, one store worker states, quoting a manager. "We will be selling them at 10am friday when we open," the former says. "It's first come first serve and there WILL be a line up. If we are doing the same thing as last year we will be handing out a piece of paper which you will fill out telling us which ipad you want, size, color ect.."
Despite Canada's close ties with the US market, it likely will be more difficult to get an iPad 2 there on launch. The iPad 2 is shipping to the country two weeks after it did in the US, and the region has a comparatively small number of Apple Stores, clustered around major cities like Montreal and Toronto. Apple has also traditionally deprioritized international sales, often charging higher prices while diverting the bulk of inventory to the US.
The latter point has raised concerns over promises to ship to over two dozen countries on the 25th. Although Apple has tried to reassure Czech and UK buyers that the iPad 2 will arrive on time, the company is still struggling to keep up with American demand, and could conceivably be forced to postpone some international rollouts. Apple's US online store continues to list shipping times of four to five weeks, and many retail stores have been getting sporadic resupply.
