Buffalo outlines new MiniStations, DriveStations

Buffalo on Tuesday began shipping its restyled portable MiniStation and desktop DriveStation hard drives. The former requires nothing but a USB 2.0 cable for a data connection and power cable and is available in 500GB and 1TB capacities. The latter requires a separate power connection, but is available with either a USB 2.0 or faster USB 3.0 data connection.

The DriveStations with USB 2.0 are offered in 1TB or 2TB capacities, while the USB 3.0 version adds a third, 3TB model. Buffalo promises near-silent operation, an auto installation feature and an automatic power on and off feature.

Both drives are said to be now shipping in the UK, though prices aren't yet available.
