Firefox 4 Release Candidate for handhelds out

Mozilla has now released the Firefox 4 Release Candidate for portable devices running on Android or Maemo operating systems. There software is available in more than 10 languages and brings with it many improvements, most of which are mentioned in the video below.

Other than faster scrolling, there is said to be an overall improvement in responsiveness. Added features include Firefox Sync, the Awesome Screen, tabbed browsing and Firefox Add-ons. Users can synchronize their history, bookmarks, tabs and passwords between your desktop and mobile Firefox operating systems. The browser will learn from a user's browsing habits as well and allows double tap or pinching to zoom into or out of web pages. It can also be personalized.

The software has been tested on 21 devices, including those from Dell, HTC, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Viewsonic and Nokia, including some tablets. Android 2.0 needs to be preloaded on devices that don't have Maemo.
