Tunebug intros Rumble speaker with speakerphone capabilities

updated 09:30 am EDT, Wed March 23, 2011

Microphone built into TunePad base

Tunebug has introduced its latest helmet-mount speaker system, the Rumble. The latest offering centers around the company'sTuneRing accessory, which drives the larger TunePad piece to create sound from the larger surface. The TunePad also integrates a microphone, enabling speakerphone functionality for Bluetooth devices.

The Rumble works using the same principles as the rest of Tunebug's speakers, generating sound by vibrating on a helmet or other surface that consequently serves as a flat panel speaker. The kit includes a helmet mount, along with a charging cable and a 3.5mm patch cable for devices that do not support Bluetooth.

The Rumble is expected to launch soon, with pricing set at $149. [via Engadget]
