Nikon D5100 rumored already shipping to Canada

Nikon's long rumored D5100 may already be shipping to stores ahead of an imminent launch, more than one source said Friday. Canadian stores are purportedly already receiving the entry DSLR in large quantities ahead of a release in the near future. Nikon Rumors, providing the new leak, had also previously obtained word of an April 4 event that would usher in the new camera.

Little is known about what the D5100 will offer, although it should still have the swiveling LCD that defined the soon to be outgoing D5000. It will most likely at least have the upgraded 14-megapixel sensor of the D3100 and should shoot 1080p video at a minimum.

Pricing hasn't surfaced, but shipments would indicate that the camera would ship either simultaneous to the unveiling or just days before.
