Samsung Presto 4G router hits Verizon March 31

A leak from within Verizon's internal systems has set a launch date for Samsung's 4G LTE hotspot. Known through tips as the Presto, the SCH-LC11 should reach online and retail on March 31. Engadget's copy of the Verizon Equipment Guide didn't have price, although most modems and routers are $100 or less paired up with a data contract.

The hotspot will share either a 3G or 4G connection with as many as five other devices over 802.11n Wi-Fi within about 30 feet. It won't immediately stand out versus the equivalent Novatel MiFi 4510L, but it will have built-in GPS and VPN support.

Data plans should stay the same and start at $20 for 1GB, along with $35 for 3GB, $50 for 5GB, and $80 for 10GB.
