HTC points to launch in France

HTC's Evo 3D handset appears to be set for distribution outside of the US market. The company's official Twitter account in France boasts of a local launch. While device renaming for different carriers and regions is a common practice among smartphone makers, the post points out that the device will keep the same name.

The Android 2.3-based smartphone, which was unveiled by Sprint earlier this month at CTIA, features a dual-core Snapdragon CPU running at 1.2GHz. Users can view glasses-free 3D imagery on the 540x960 LCD spanning 4.3 inches. Dual cameras also capture 3D stills or 3D video in resolutions up to 720p, along with 2D video in 1080p.

The tweet does not provide specific information regarding carriers or launch dates in France. The company is also expected to release the device in other European countries. [via Coolsmartphone]
