Boxee Box May update to add iPad hooks
Boxee on Wednesday afternoon detailed the promised update coming in May for the Boxee Box. The upgrade will bring support for the hinted at Boxee for iPad app to stream the media hub's content to an Apple tablet. The browser should also be faster for loading and scrolling as well as bring favorites and a history.
Viewers browsing local files will also have a requested option of sorting by the source, filtering results by individual computers or the SD and USB expansion. It now also looks at the .NFO files often accompanying homebrew sources.
Video has a new on-screen display and better fast-forward and rewind controls, and language has expended to include core European languages as well as Arabic, Hebrew, Russian, Swedish, and Turkish. A slew of minor fixes are in place and improve the handling of USB IR receivers and multiple USB drives, the display of special characters, and performance for overlay ads in Flash, among others.
Early access users get the update in the very near future.
