MetroPCS shows Tapout-themed Ascend phone

MetroPCS will soon begin offering a special-edition version of the Huawei Ascend Android smartphone. Sanctioned by the mixed martial arts league Tapout, the phone will ship with two back covers, one wearing the Tapout logo. It will contain ten virtual training center videos, 12 static wallpapers and six live wallpapers, along with an unspecified number of apps, all Tapout-themed.

The carrier has made few changes to the hardware apart from bundling a 2GB microSD card. Otherwise, the phone has a 3.5-inch, 640x240 touchscreen, Wi-Fi, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. It runs on Android 2.2.

The phone will cost $150 and won't need a contract.
