Five PlayStation games for Xperia Play in Market

With the admittedly unspecified release of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play just around the corner, the Android Market is now offering five Sony PlayStation games meant for the phone. The games appeared on Thursday, and include Syphon Filter, MediEvil and Cool Boarders 2, with each priced at $6.38. More are expected over the short term until the device is released sometime this spring.

All of the games are so far limited by choice to the Xperia Play and can't be pushed out to other devices.

The PlayStation-certified Android phone will arrive at Verizon Wireless, though prices remain unknown. It will be capable of playing original PlayStation games available through the Android Market. It slides open to reveal PlayStation-like controls and gets a 1GHz Snapdragon with an Adreno 205 graphics core to run games on its 854x480 screen at 60 frames per second. [via BGR]
