Samsung Galaxy S Plus i9001 confirmed with 1.4GHz CPU

Galaxy S Plus i9001 packs Gingerbread, AMOLED


The Samsung Galaxy S Plus i9001, first rumored by Eldar Murtazin, has now been confirmed for the Russian market. The replacement for the original Galaxy S, it will feature a single-core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz. Although only single-core, Murtazin suggests that it is Samsung’s answer to the HTC Pyramid, which will be HTC’s first dual-core mobile.

Samsung Russia indicates that the phone will ship with a four-inch Super AMOLED display, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 UI, 8GB of internal RAM, HD video recording and playback in addition to the overclocked CPU. It should also have 14.4Mbps 3G.

The Samsung Galaxy S Plus i9001 is scheduled to ship in April for the equivalent of $844.
