HP Elitebook 2560p, 2760p notebooks leak early

HP will soon release two new portable notebooks, called the EliteBook 2560p and 2760p. News of this comes from two sources, namely HP itself (PDF) and a NotebookItalia report. The latter also reveals some preliminary specs for the 12.1-inch computers.

The pair is likely to replace the current 12.1-inch 2540p and 2740p that are about a year old. The 2760 would be a convertible tablet, and the 2560 a traditional clamshell. Both would share other tech specs, such as USB 3.0, DisplayPort and a choice of 1.4GHz Core i5, 1.6GHz Core i7 and 2.7GHz Core i7 chips. There is also talk of the pair offering up to 16GB of RAM. A Blu-ray drive may also be offered. The 2760p would offer an LED-backlit 1366x768 display and an optional 1440x900.

Pricing and release dates at this time remain unknown. [via Engadget]
