Verizon price leak has Droid Charge costing 300

Verizon may charge a steep premium for the Samsung Droid Charge if a pricing schedule slip holds. The 4G Android phone's minimum advertised price (MAP) is listed as $300 on contract, or $50 more expensive even than the HTC Thunderbolt. Droid-Life's list didn't include rebates and had room to change, though all the other prices for shipping devices were accurate.

The HTC Incredible 2 also appeared on the list and had a more conventional pricing of $200 on a contract. If consistent with Verizon's roadmap, the Droid Charge would go on sale April 7 and would be followed up by the Incredible 2 on April 28.

Higher pricing could suggest a trend for the rest of Verizon's 4G phones yet to come, including the LG Revolution and the Motorola Droid Bionic. LTE chipsets are likely more expensive than 3G equivalents, but it's unknown if this is genuinely reflected in the price or simply being used to command a premium for 4G hardware.
