Alienware M14x gaming notebook gets pics, specs

Thanks to Chinese tech site Zol, the previously leaked M14x gaming notebook from Alienware has been more fully uncovered. The specs also have been made more concrete, with a quad-core, 2.3GHz Core i7 CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M both being present to give it relatively fast gaming. The notebook will also get Klipsch speakers and a stainless steel nameplate that can be engraved.

The notebook otherwise gets 8GB of RAM and a 750GB, 7,200RPM hard drive, both easily accessible by users. An eight-cell lithium ion battery is integrated as well, but not as easily swappable as in typical notebooks.

The keyboard is backlit in blue, and the Windows 7 OS has a customized Alienware skin put onto it that makes it look like the menu of a game, with StarCraft II coming to mind. Another unique touch is the power plug located rear and center of the notebook rather than off to the side like others. The left side has a VGA port, HDMI output, USB 2.0 port, Mini DisplayPort, and an SD and micro SD memory card slot. The right side gets the optical disc drive, two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet jack and a Kensington lock.

Despite this report, pricing and a ship date for the notebook both remain unknown.
