HTC Evo View 4G may ship with Android 3.0

A Sprint teaser page has hinted that the HTC Evo View 4G might ship with Android 3.0. Although the version unveiled and which we tried was using Android 2.3, a blurb shows it using "Android 3.0 just for tablets." The same teaser shows the Evo 3D with Android 2.3 and suggested Sprint was well aware of what its OS plans would be.

HTC has said the Flyer would get Android 3.0, but it has mostly been talking about after-launch upgrades and later releases that would eventually have Android 3.0 preloaded. The Evo View 4G is one of the first carrier variants of the Flyer to ship and could be the first real showcase for HTC's Sense when adapted to Android 3.0.

Google has implied Android 3.0 doesn't have hard requirements, but it has uusally implied that at least a dual-core processor like the Tegra 2 was a good idea to preserve the user experience. The Evo View 4G and Flyer use a 1.5GHz single-core chip that won't have the parallelism but might be fast enough through the sheer clock speed.
