Japan quake causing Sony Ericsson supply issues
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo has been delayed to summer and while the Xperia Arcand Xperia Play are facing shortages. The news comes via Sony Ericsson’s Italian Facebook page, which explains that the delays and shortages are a result of the Japan earthquake.
According to Sony Ericsson, the company has communicated to its operator customers and distributors that supply chain disruptions resulting from the situation in Japan have affected the world-wide roll out of the Neo. It has been released in some Asian markets, but it won’t be produced in significant quantities and be ready for wider distribution until Q3.
More details about supply chain issues will be addressed at Sony Ericsson's Q1 financial results call on April 19.
