Source claims three models on the way

AMD is allegedly preparing to introduce several new graphics cards that will fit into the Radeon HD 6000 series, unnamed sources have told DigiTimes. The series is said to be expanding with three new model numbers: 6670, 6570 and 6450. As the numbering suggests, the cards will serve to bolster the entry-level and midrange side of the series.

Each of the new cards is said to be a simple adaptation of an existing OEM variant, however the existing DDR3 memory has been upgraded with faster GDDR5 chips. It is unclear if the updated models will bring any other enhancements past the memory choice.

The three cards are expected to be launched on April 19, allegedly completing the 6000 series as the company looks forward to beginning mass production of the 7000 series, code-named Southern Islands, later in May.
