TVs available in 3.5-, 7-inch sizes

RCA has announced that it is ready to ship several portable TVs that can be used to watch digital TV broadcasts or Mobile DTV feeds. The offerings include three standalone models with 3.5- or seven-inch displays, along with a tuner for car infotainment systems. The larger DMT270R centers around a seven-inch LCD with 800x480 resolution, with a built-in battery claimed to extend past four hours of viewing.

The smaller variants integrate 3.5-inch LCDs with 320x240 resolution, while four AA-size batteries are claimed to reach the same viewing time as the larger counterpart. The DMT335R provides basic TV functionality, however users can add an FM tuner by stepping up to the DMT336R.

The DMT3BR lacks an LCD display, relying instead on a video output for integration with existing in-vehicle monitors. Users can control the channels directly from the device or via remote control, while power is drawn from a 12V adapter.

The new portable TVs range in price from $119 to $179, with general availability slated for later this week.
