HTC Sensation gets early preview
The HTC Sensation, previously known as the Pyramid, has been leaked ahead of its official unveiling by UK’s Vodafone. As anticipated, the phone centers on a high quality, high resolution 4.3-inch qHD 540x960 S-LCD display. It is also confirmed as HTC’s first dual-core smartphone, featuring a new Snapdragon 1.2GHz processor while it comes with 4GB of internal storage plus 8GB of storage provided by the supplied memory card. It is also equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash.
The Vodafone site does not yet have the specification page active, but it is also expected that the phone will run Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), tweaked with HTC’s Sense UI. The device is capable of 1080p video recording and playback and comes with a relatively high resolution 1.2-megapixel front facing camera.
The device is rumored to be heading to T-Mobile sometime this spring for its US launch. It should incorporate HSPA+ 3G capable of a theoretical downstream speed of 14.4mbps, which is currently the best that T-Mobile’s 3G network is capable of supporting.
