White iPhone 4 rumored for late April
Talk of the white iPhone 4 shipping in April was backed up Wednesday night through a rumor narrowing down the timing. Both AT&T and Verizon editions would get the long-delayed color by the end of the month. Bloomberg in getting details claimed the manufacturing issues were worse than previously thought and that the original white paint had been peeling under heat.
A sensor was also a problem, one tipster said. Alhough unmentioned, it could be the proximity sensor on the front.
The new color would be necessary for a longer than usual interval between genuinely new iPhones. Two extra sources supported beliefs that the iPhone 5 would miss WWDC. They didn't say when it would ship, but most speculation has it arriving in September, at Apple's normally iPod-centric event and with enough time for a version of iOS 5 shown at WWDC to be ready for launch.
While unconfirmed, a production white iPhone did appear in Hong Kong's gray market and supported notions that Apple was at least getting close. The color has become almost a singular mission for Apple as it refused to cancel plans for a white iPhone 4 even when it had to delay the hue more than once and push it to the spring. The white iPad 2 was likely to come regardless, but Apple chief Steve Jobs was emphatic at its introduction that it would be available "from day one" alongside the more conventional black.

I would totally make the back of my iPhone white. I like the front black, but the back would look hot as white. Though it would mean it would match my MacBook Pro less...
