Kogan shows affordable TV hub, tablet, netbook

Australian hardware maker Kogan has introduced four new Agora-branded devices on Thursday. This includes the Agora Internet TV Portal that promises to bring the web and access to the Android Market to users' TVs, the Agora 7-inch Tablet PC, and Agora 12-inch Laptop along with a Pro version of the notebook. The netbooks run on Ubuntu Linux 11.04 while the other devices depend on Android 2.2.

The Kogan Internet TV Portal promises to bring content from YouTube, Ustream and any website that hosts videos. There is also a built-in web browser, social media shortcuts and photo viewing and sharing. Games Angry Birds should also work. It should be shipping now for $149 AUD.

The 11.6-inch Kogan Agora netbook uses a 1.2GHz Celeron M processor and 1GB of RAM. It has a 250GB hard drive and gets a 720p display. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an HDMI output and a 1.3-megapixel camera are all integrated. The four-cell, 4,600mAh battery is said to provide 3.5 hours of life, and the netbook weighs 2.9lbs. The netbook costs $299. A Pro version of the netbook costs $319 and gets the same specs but upgrades to 2GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

Finally, the Agora 7-inch Android Tablet sports a capacitive, 1024x600 touchscreen and is powered by a 1GHz Samsung Cortex A8 CPU and 512MB of RAM. The device has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera and a 3,600mAh battery. It costs $139.

All products are now shipping to customers in Australia and the UK.
