LG G-Slate reaches T-Mobile in advance

T-Mobile stores have begun receiving their units of the G-Slate ahead of its debut. One unboxing from a staffer has shown both the final, shipping kit and turned it on. The Android 3.0 tablet when fired up has a stock interface, but does come with the rumored pair of red-blue 3D glasses to see the tablet's 720p 3D video directly on the display, TmoNews found.

The G-Slate is the first major 8.9-inch Android 3.0 tablet to ship and has the same NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor as larger models like the Xoom. Its standout are its two five-megapixel rear cameras for snapping 3D still photos and videos, but it also has HSPA+ 3G for T-Mobile's network. A front camera and 32GB of storage put it on par with its peers.

An appearance in stores supports notions that LG's hardware could be in stores on April 20, the same day as the G2X. It should cost $530 when it arrives. Japan and other countries are due to get the G-Slate under its regular Optimus Pad name in the next several weeks.
