iPad 2 to arrive in 13 more countries next week

updated 06:25 pm EDT, Wed April 20, 2011

Regions yet to be identified

Apple will launch the iPad 2 in 13 more countries next week, according to COO Tim Cook. The executive made the statement during the company's fiscal Q2 results call, addressing the "mother of all backlogs" the tablet has been experiencing. More countries will get the device throughout the third quarter, says Cook.

Which regions in particular are getting the iPad 2 next week has yet to be announced. So far this month Apple has launched the device in places like Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea. The company's big international push took place on March 25th, when the iPad 2 migrated outside the US for the first time to over two dozen countries, such as Canada and the UK.
