ThinkGeek, Atari, deliver classic arcade gaming

ThinkGeek has placed its iCade iPad game controller up for pre-order. The iCade is compatible with the iPad and the iPad 2 and has been given official third-party app support by Atari. Atari’s Greatest Hits (App Store) recently launched and has been developed to work with the iCade’s classic arcade-style controls.

The iCade’s controls connect with the iPad over Bluetooth, and an API is being developed to allow any iOS developer to take advantage of its physical control scheme. Users can however immediately take advantage of the device with Atari’s Greatest Hits when the iCade ships by May 20 for its $100 price.

The Atari collection comes with Pong for free with the other 100 classic gaming titles including Asteroids, Missile Command, Centipede and Warlords available for purchase in three-packs for $1 or the 100 games outright for $15.
