The Casio G’zOne Commando and HTC Droid Incredible demo units have arrived in Verizon stores. Also reportedly in stores ahead of their April 28 launch are the shipping units. While a number of details have slipped about the Droid Incredible 2, less is known about that Casio G’zOne Commando, a ruggedized Android 2.2 smartphone for outdoor adventurers.
The Casio G’zOne Commando is said to be water, shock and dust resistant. It is equipped with an 800 MHz processor matched with 512MB RAM. It centers on a 3.6-inch 480x800 display and incorporates a 5-megapixel rear camera. In keeping with the phones rugged design, it will also sport apps for outdoor enthusiasts including a thermometer, pedometer and a digital compass. It is good for up to 7 hours talk time and can support micro SD cards up to 32GB.
The Droid Incredible 2 will include a second-gen 1GHz Snapdragon processor paired wit 768MB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera with twin-xenon flash. It will also have a 4-inch 800x400 display and will incorporate a TI-sourced audio chip capable of delivering SRS surround sound and active noise cancellation.
