Galaxy S II ad focuses on 8.49mm thickness
A new TV ad for Samsung's Galaxy S II handset (below) is focusing entirely on the phone's ultra-thin profile. At 8.49mm thin, it undercuts even the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc's 8.7mm thickness. The newest from Samsung will also sport an eight-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen. The Xperia Arc has a 4.2-inch screen, in contrast.
When it ships, the Galaxy S II will also have Android 2.3 preloaded, becoming Samsung's first handset with the OS. It will be overlaid by the TouchWiz interface, however.
It's not yet known when the handset will arrive in North America or what it will cost, but it's already shipping in Korea, where users can take advantage of its native NFC support for payments.
