Sketchy photos show iPhone with larger screen

iPhone with larger screen surfaces in photos

An admittedly uncertain but atypical set of photos Monday have given possible support to the idea of an iPhone with a larger screen. Two shots show a design with the same overall dimensions as the iPhone 4 but with a screen running much closer to the edge. One shot put the new front panel side by side with the originally planned white panel and helped MIC Gadget notice that it was using the new proximity sensor spotted on shipping white iPhone 4 units.

The other image shows the device loaded with iOS 4 on the home screen, but it's impossible to say for certain how accurate the image is. It has a mostly stock layout but shows non-stock evidence such as a waiting App Store update, the airplane mode icon and a time stamp Apple doesn't normally use for marketing copy. This same photo may also show signs of a tapered design, since the sides appear to be too thin for the iPhone 4.

The images could be careful editing, but the larger screen and tapered design would be consistent with talk of a significant redesign. Under this view, it would have a 3.7-inch display and a more iPod touch-like back, although the images here cast doubt on the prospects of a large home button with room for multi-touch gestures.

Any design is more likely to have an A5 processor and may introduce both 64GB of storage as well as NFC wireless.

    Can you say FAKE?

Why is the 'dot' on the left not a magnifier? Why is it off by more than 25 pixels?

Look at the gap where it joins the front panel

This kind of gap variation could only be found on a Toyota Sequoia.

it better have a larger screen

those Thunderbolts and Galaxy S phones are looking pretty nice, they make the iPhone screen look puny.
