Retailer already offering local sales
White iPhone 4s are already arriving at retailers around the world, photos reveal. A Belgian retailer, Van Roey, notes that it has received its first shipment, as evidenced by boxes with the white phone on the front. The company says it is also in fact beginning to sell them, although shipments can only go out to addresses in the Benelux area.
It now appears that white iPhone 4s are all but guaranteed for an official launch on April 27th. The hardware is for instance in Best Buy retail systems, and was even put on sale prematurely in the UK last week. The white option should be available through most carriers, including both AT&T and Verizon in the US.
Apple has repeatedly delayed the introduction of white iPhones following their announcement in June last year. Difficulties in creating the white coating have been blamed, but these are believed to have been fixed earlier in 2011, and Apple eventually settled on a "spring" timeframe. The company may have plenty of time to sell white models if the iPhone 5 will only ship in September, as is generally rumored.
