Acer shows Aspire Z5763 all-in-one with 3D screen
PC maker Acer has announced a new all-in-one PC meant for Europe, the Aspire Z5763. Unlike other all-in-ones from the company, this one is the first to use a 3D display. NVIDIA's 3D Vision system powers it, while the screen is a 23-inch, 1080p display. Buyers can choose from among three Intel processors: a 2.5GHz or 2.7GHz Core i5 or a 2.8GHz Core i7. Graphics cards choices include the NVIDIA GeForce GT440 or GeForce GT435M. Up to 16GB of RAM can be specified as well. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 are other options, as is an analog/digital TV tuner. A 5W stereo speaker system and a two-megapixel webcam are standard fare.
As much as 2TB of hard drive space can be specified as well, though the size of the standard drive isn't specified. A 3D-compatible Blu-ray drive is appropriately built-in. Acer preloads its AirControl app for gesture control of multimedia features from up to 10 feet away.
The Acer Aspire Z5763 ships in the UK in mid-May, with tax-inclusive prices starting at £999 (about $1,650). There is no indication of when the computer will arrive in North America, though most Acer PCs make the trip overseas.
