$50 includes unlimited calling/ text/Mobile Web

Verizon Wireless today officially launched its "Unleashed" monthly prepaid calling plan. The plan includes unlimited text and calls as well as unlimited "Mobile Web". Three smart phones will be available to customers, the LG Accolade, the LG Cosmos and the Pantech Caper. Initially, the Unleashed plan will only be available in Florida and southern California.

For Verizon, this is an aggressive move into the prepaid market. However, it faces stiff competition. MetroPCS has prepaid plans starting at $40. Cricket has prepaid plans starting at $45. Boost also has a $50 plan, but theirs includes free directory assistance (Verizon may charge as much as $1.99 for directory assistance.)
