Cisco multi-purpose router shows at FCC

The Cisco REN301 Residential Gateway Wi-Fi router has shown at the FCC undergoing compliance testing prior to its release. The device is a single-band router that supports 802.11 b/g/n and incorporates a color LCD display. It also includes capacitive touch buttons that allows the device to be set up and configured without the need to use a PC.

The multi-purpose device also delivers SIP VoIP phone capability, supports DLNA media streaming and can facilitate Network Attached Storage. It even comes with a 32GB SD card for storing media locally on the device. Cisco will make nine different versions of the Residential Gateway including some that support Z-Ware and ZigBee home automation services.

Given its appearance at the FCC, it can be expected to show in stores soon. [via Wireless Goodness]
