Intel Cedar Trail details show up

Specs of upcoming Cedar Trail Atoms revealed

The previously mentioned Cedar Trail Atom chips from Intel just got some specs, thanks to AnandTech. Their release has also been pushed back to the fall, rather than a spring release. All share a CPU and GPU placed on a single 32nm die. The same NM10 chipset is carried over, while TDPs were kept the same or even lower, and clock speeds were bumped.

Overall CPU performance should remain the same, at least until all-new Atom architecture arrives in mid- to late 2012. Thus far, only dual-core Atom CPUs are listed, as in the table below. Intel's Pine Trail chips may get upgraded this summer, likely sporting 2GHz single-core and dual-core chips.

The new Cedar Trail chips will get DirectX 10.1 and HD decoding support, along with Blu-Ray 2.0. Expanded display options consist of HDMI 1.3a, DisplayPort 1.1, eDP (embedded DisplayPort), LVDS and VGA. Up to two displays can be driven at the same time as well.

Cedar Trail chips are expected to find their way into netbooks priced at under $300, with the D2700 aiming slightly higher.
