Dell puts Alienware M15x out to pasture

Dell's Alienware gaming notebook line-up just got smaller, as the company retired its M15x, Engadget learned. The 15-inch notebook sported a standard-issue 2.13GHz Core i3 chip along with 3GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and GeForce GT 240M graphics. Options included Core i5 and i7 chips including the quad-core 2GHz Core i7 Extreme Edition.

Gamers will instead have to look for the recently unveiled M14x to take the spot of the discontinued model. Dell's reasons for pulling the notebook are unknown, but are likely related to the introduction of the M14x rendering the larger system redundant.
