Logitech TV Cam uses Carl Zeiss optics for 720p

Logitech has unveiled its TV Cam for Skype, which delivers 720p video chat to user’s living rooms. The device features Carl Zeiss optics and is compatible with Skype-enabled HD TVs. It has sensitive, dual mics with echo cancellation that allows users to sit some distance away from their TV on the couch, for example, but deliver high quality sound and images to family and friends. To further help cater for lounge room use, the device also has a wide-viewing angle of 78-degrees.

Logitech advises that users should use the device only if they have high-speed internet access and an available USB port on their TV. The device also ships with a 5-foot USB cable as well as a 6-foot USB extension cable, as well as a cleaning cloth.

The Logitech TV Cam for Skype is retailing for $150 and is available for pre-order on Logitech’s website.
