WP7 team says there is "no fix" for now

Microsoft has warned that any Windows Phone 7 handsets that used "unofficial mechanisms" to install build 7390 will not be able to receive the latest software update. In the Windows Phone developer blog, the company claims the new update, build 7392, must be pushed to a handset that currently runs an official package, rather than the hacked software.

"Phones updated via the unsupported method do not contain an official image and cannot be updated further at this time," the blog reads. "Due to scheduling of engineering resources, we did not anticipate having to undue the changes made to phones by these unsupported methods."

Microsoft claims there is "no fix" for now, however the company has yet to rule out the possibility of working on a fix in the future. The Windows Phone 7 team is reportedly collaborating with creators of the unofficial builds to create a solution that will attempt to revert handsets to the "officially supported path."

"We will work with them to validate their solution and applaud the team for taking responsibility to do this," the blog adds.
