Amazon Kindle lands in over 3200 Walmart stores

Amazon has announced that its third-generation Kindle will now be available at over 3200 Walmart stores nationally. Amazon says that most stores will have a Kindle on display so customers can “check out all the features” before buying the device. Walmart will be selling both the Kindle 3G and the Kindle with Special Offers and will join a growing list of retailers selling the Kindle in bricks and mortar stores.

The third-generation Kindle weighs only 8.5 oz, and is more compact and sleek than the first two generations. It uses the latest generation e-ink to deliver a more responsive page turning experience, while still delivering excellent readability in bright light on its 6-inch display. The Kindle also features a capable, but grey-scale Web browsing experience.

The Amazon Kindle 3G retails for $189.
