HTC ChaCha, Salsa phones up for pre-order in UK
HTC's Facebook-oriented smartphones, the ChaCha and Salsa, have now gone up for pre-order on Amazon UK. The ChaCha lists for £250 (about $409) and the Salsa is priced at £320 (nearly $524). The phones are due to arrive on June 26 and are sold as unlocked devices.
Later on, the ChaCha will arrive at providers with subsidized deals from Orange, T-Mobile, Three, and Vodafone, while carrier partners for the Salsa aren't yet known. The handsets are officially endorsed by Facebook and sport shortcuts to Facebook chat, their profile, a news feed, and a phone book that integrates with their Facebook contacts.
The ChaCha has a fixed QWERTY hardware keyboard under a 2.6-inch, 480x320 capacitive touchscreen display. It gets Android 2.3, a 600MHz processor, a five-megapixel rear-facing camera and a VGA front camera. The Salsa has a 3.4-inch, 480x320 capacitive display along with the same OS, a five-megapixel rear camera and Wi-Fi access.
US release dates for the handsets shouldn't bee too far behind but haven't been leaked so far. [via DialToSave]
