Motorola acquires SunUp Digital systems

Motorola Mobility on Tuesday revealed it has purchased California-based software developer SunUp Digital Systems. While no financial details surrounding the deal were disclosed, the purchase will build up Motorola's Medios software platform. The acquisition will allow the company to manage live content across multiple screens, including TVs, smartphones, and tablets.

Motorola will also now be able to integrate its offerings with service providers, as SunUp's software automates tasks and unifies subsystems with a set of modular, open standards-based apps for content.

Earlier this year, Motorola also bought Swedish IPTV provider Dreampark to shore up its mobile content offerings.
