Employees focusing on Chrome OS

Google co-founder Sergey Brin estimates that as many as 80 percent of the search giant's employees are no longer using Windows computers. The executive's comments, taken from an interview with All Things Digital, suggests the majority of Google staffers are already working with the company's Chrome OS rather than alternative platforms.

"I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with Windows," Brin said. "It has a lot of great security features. But I think the complexity of managing your computer is really torturing users."

The executive claims Microsoft is pursuing a "flawed model," while Chrome OS does not "put the burden of managing the computer" on users.

"I hope next year to be able to report that we have a very small percentage of our employees using anything other than Chromebooks," Brin added.

Hardware manufacturers are currently preparing to release the first lineup of Chromebooks, with several models to ship in June from Acer and Samsung.
