Nokia N9 shows up in escaped promo video

A leaked promo video (below) has given a tangible glimpse of the Nokia N9 for the first time. It looks much like the MacBook Pro-influenced design spotted almost a year ago with an aluminum shell and a slide-out, black QWERTY keyboard. PocketNow readers also spotted a 12-megapixel camera that would put it at least on par with the N8.

Most of the details, including the OS, are still unknowns. Most have presumed the N9 would ship with MeeGo, an observation helped by Nokia's own comments that it would have a non-tablet MeeGo Device out by the end of the year. Some viewers, however, claim that the screen captures in the video are reminiscent of Symbian Anna and not MeeGo.

Processor choices are up in the air as well, and while ARM is more likely given its better performance, one rumor has alluded to an Atom-based N9 to help satisfy MeeGo's other main developer, Intel.

An FCC appearance has hinted that the N9 could be ready by June, even for the US.
