Omnia 7 gets software patch from Samsung

Samsung has released its own patch for its Windows Phone 7-powered Omnia 7 smartphone that should fix previous bricking issues when Microsoft' update was applied. Microsoft has since stopped the update for the handset. The 23MB patch correctly puts through the 7392 security update and makes sure it can get future releases.

Instructions on the update are also available (PDF). Users will not see the 80182C1 error again when they correctly install the new patch. One user who installed this software reported that 100MB of memory was freed up.
