Sony Thailand page victim of a phishing scam

F-Secure security labs has found a phishing site is running on Sony's server in Thailand. The phishing site runs under hdworld.sony.co.th and targets an Italian credit card company, CartaSi. While the attack isn't as serious as the PSN hack, it still represents a flaw at a time when Sony needs it the least.

Sony has been notified of the intrusion and the malicious URL has been blocked to F-Secure's customers.

Phishing involves attempting to gain a user's sensitive information such as credit or bank card numbers and passwords by masquerading as a legitimate service or goods providers to earn the user's trust. Partial or complete site hijacks are common in these situations, but they rarely include such major companies.
