Asus teases netbook with “a twist”

Asus has teased another product ahead of Computex 2011. The latest is what it describes as “The next evolution of the Eee PC.” Asus’ Facebook page also hints that there might be something special that sets this netbook apart from other in its class. It is said to be “no ordinary netbook”, but packs a “twist.”

The image supplied by Notebook Italia looks like a match for the silhouette shown in the teaser image. If it is the same device, it appears to be one of Acer’s slimmest netbooks to date. The “twist” could be a rotatable display that could turn the device into a tablet.

No other details have emerged about the device. Its OS, and its hardware remain unknown. With the plethora of OS and hardware combinations currently in the hands of manufacturers it could be running an ARM chip and a mobile OS, through to more traditional netbook with an Intel Atom at its heart.

All will be revealed at Computex Taipei next week. [via Notebook Italia]
