Card overclocks graphics cores

ASUS is currently showing its upcoming Matrix GTX 580 Platinum graphics card, an overclocked variant of the standard GTX 580. Although the company has yet to detail its flagship Mars II edition, the Platinum model will provide 1.5GB of GDDR5 VRAM, 512 CUDA cores, and a GPU core frequency pushed to 816 MHz.

Users will be able to instantly adjust the voltage settings or view voltage measurements directly from the card, while a "Safe Mode" button reverts back to normal settings if necessary. Other standard features include dual DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connections, along with SLI support for combining up to three cards.

The Mars II configuration will be based on primary components from two GTX 580 cards, bringing the total memory size up to 3.0GB. Additional specs, such as the core, shader, and memory frequencies remain unclear.

ASUS has yet to disclose a release date or pricing for the GTX 580 series. [via VR-Zone and XFastest]
